This site is a tribute to François Emery, who was born in Paris on February 16, 1961. 

François’s independence was central to his identity. He liked to discover new places and experiences under his own steam. His favourite family activities were the walks we went on together in the French and English countryside. He would get to know a new city by strolling across it with no destination in mind. 

In robbing François of his physical independence, Motor Neurone Disease removed a central part of his selfhood. He always mourned the abilities he had lost. 

By raising money to support research into Motor Neurone Disease, we hope to help others keep their independence for longer. Eventually, a cure will be found which will prevent others from suffering as François did. 

He is much loved and will always be remembered.
